He Smacked Our Trash Bin

Traffic whizzes by our house, 40 to 50 mph even though the speed limit is 30.  A few years ago a jeep, turned upside down in our side yard. When I hear tires screeching I check it out and hope a car is not headed in through our window on the world

Screeeeeeeeeeeech of tires, I race to window. Just in time to see a black GMC Truck stop with tires smoking. He rammed it in reverse and smoked the tires backwards into our driveway, and BAM! the side of his truck hit our green trash bin and turned it on its side,

He did not even stop, but raced off back the way he came with tires smoking. I was thinking about road rage, and guns and stuff like that.

I am still describing what I saw to Bob......I hear the truck before I can see it, tire burnout, just out of sight, I know its the same truck, and stand waiting to see, he blast by the house at least 60 mph

and he is dragging a flat bed  trailer that was not on when he backed in our yard.

I surmised that he was ticked off because the trailer came loose as he sped out of the four way stop signs 6 houses down from us and had to go back and get it. I could hear but not see, him backing and moving forward with smoking tires and in My Minds Eye, see his fury at his own stupidity of not hooking it up properly.

I describe all this to Bob, and may have ranted about now I have to figure out how to stand it up, I can hardly push it on its wheels, now its turnedoverandwhatwillIdooo? I CAN"T STAND It UP and Bob could if he could STAND !

Dear Bradenton City Trash truck driver, thank you for turning it upright and making my world right again. Thank you for driving a truck and riding with the smells and dealing with the people who put wrong things in the trash and for the men hanging on the back, jumping off and on the truck in rain and lightning storms, clinging to a smelling truck in HIGH HEAT FLORIDA, with flies and bugs and  poopy diapers and dead animals and on and on, it a horrible Job and you do it well. Forgot dog poop in bags, ugh.

We should all appreciate the people who do the dirty hot and hard work for us to live our lives comfortably.

below are the also AI that gave me a laugh. Maybe it was my southern accent?

What an idiot that driver was, Sandra, and glad the only thing hurt was a trash bin. Your praise of garbage collectors is well taken as the work they do is underrated by most folks. And, thanks you for a no centered text post, my favorite type.

Where is a good traffic cop when you need one? What an idiot that driver was (and no doubt still is). Glad that the waste receptacle wasn’t totally destroyed, and you are quite correct that we should all take a moment to recognize the people who do the jobs we wouldn’t want to. No doubt many business are now missing the immigrants who have now been deported, and are having difficulty to find Americans to do the work. Have a great weekend, Sandra.

Ye gods... these boy racer types are a menace. We have them here too, with their popping exhausts and never switching their engines off, roaring for the sake, burning rubber to show off... all illegal but the police just never show up. Anyway, I second your support of the garbage collectors!!! YAM xx

Nice words for garbage collection workers. You should print your whole post and send it to them in hard copy (or stick it on the outside of the bin for them).
