He Smacked Our Trash Bin

Traffic whizzes by our house, 40 to 50 mph even though the speed limit is 30.  A few years ago a jeep, turned upside down in our side yard. When I hear tires screeching I check it out and hope a car is not headed in through our window on the world

Screeeeeeeeeeeech of tires, I race to window. Just in time to see a black GMC Truck stop with tires smoking. He rammed it in reverse and smoked the tires backwards into our driveway, and BAM! the side of his truck hit our green trash bin and turned it on its side,

He did not even stop, but raced off back the way he came with tires smoking. I was thinking about road rage, and guns and stuff like that.

I am still describing what I saw to Bob......I hear the truck before I can see it, tire burnout, just out of sight, I know its the same truck, and stand waiting to see, he blast by the house at least 60 mph

and he is dragging a flat bed  trailer that was not on when he backed in our yard.

I surmised that he was ticked off because the trailer came loose as he sped out of the four way stop signs 6 houses down from us and had to go back and get it. I could hear but not see, him backing and moving forward with smoking tires and in My Minds Eye, see his fury at his own stupidity of not hooking it up properly.

I describe all this to Bob, and may have ranted about now I have to figure out how to stand it up, I can hardly push it on its wheels, now its turnedoverandwhatwillIdooo? I CAN"T STAND It UP and Bob could if he could STAND !

Dear Bradenton City Trash truck driver, thank you for turning it upright and making my world right again. Thank you for driving a truck and riding with the smells and dealing with the people who put wrong things in the trash and for the men hanging on the back, jumping off and on the truck in rain and lightning storms, clinging to a smelling truck in HIGH HEAT FLORIDA, with flies and bugs and  poopy diapers and dead animals and on and on, it a horrible Job and you do it well. Forgot dog poop in bags, ugh.

We should all appreciate the people who do the dirty hot and hard work for us to live our lives comfortably.

below are the also AI that gave me a laugh. Maybe it was my southern accent?

What an idiot that driver was, Sandra, and glad the only thing hurt was a trash bin. Your praise of garbage collectors is well taken as the work they do is underrated by most folks. And, thanks you for a no centered text post, my favorite type.

Where is a good traffic cop when you need one? What an idiot that driver was (and no doubt still is). Glad that the waste receptacle wasn’t totally destroyed, and you are quite correct that we should all take a moment to recognize the people who do the jobs we wouldn’t want to. No doubt many business are now missing the immigrants who have now been deported, and are having difficulty to find Americans to do the work. Have a great weekend, Sandra.

Ye gods... these boy racer types are a menace. We have them here too, with their popping exhausts and never switching their engines off, roaring for the sake, burning rubber to show off... all illegal but the police just never show up. Anyway, I second your support of the garbage collectors!!! YAM xx

Nice words for garbage collection workers. You should print your whole post and send it to them in hard copy (or stick it on the outside of the bin for them).

Hello,
That driver sounds crazy, for speedy and being reckless.

That’s a very scary experience. Good guy that trash driver. We need to sing their praises more often and so nice you do that here.

You need police in your area like we have here in our town. The drivers around her KNOW that no matter what street you are driving on, our area police are watching and they will give you a ticket...There is a cut through that goes through a parking lot and exits onto a main street. You wouldn't believe how many drivers get tickets for cutting through. Glad your trash driver was nice enough to sit your can up for you.

I once read that the single most important advancement in public health is the regular pick-up of garbage. Think plagues, rats eating garbage in medieval streets and the spread of disease. I always give my garbage collectors Christmas cash as a thank you, but seems like they deserve more. Hope they're well-paid.

It really is so frustrating! You see such idiots out on the roads...it's scary. I try not to react because I know they can do me more harm than I can do to them! HA! Glad you got things back up and in order. Those cans are tough!

Yikes! If he keeps driving like that, fueled by anger, this idiot is going to kill someone's child or their dog. Road rage is terrifying.
Yes, our trash collectors' jobs are anything but pleasant. Under-appreciated, for sure; at least I hope the City pays them appropriately. Thank you for calling attention to their conditions. I sure couldn't do it.

That's what we've been occasionally putting up concerning the knuckle draggers that speed on our country road! Turns out, it's two young "men" (I put that in quotes because real men don't terrorize others), mental midgets really. I'm surprised no one has been k!lled yet. For real. I pray for them and those on the road many times.
Someone mentioned about the work force being adversely effected by the loss of the invading army. Oh contraire! The unemployment figures are steadily decreasing as Americans are now being hired for these jobs. Millions of them. The illegals were taking jobs, money and food from us with nothing in return except heartache. That's a true statistic.
I also pray for our trash collection fellas, them mailman, delivery people, utility works, police and others who tireless do the dirty work for us that they will be protected and blessed. I sure do appreciate all that others do.
Love. 😎

I’m afraid of people who are full of rage - I’m extremely sensitive to it. Brings back memories of my first marriage. Thank God you got the help you needed. Something like that the police need to actually see.

Rage is so scary. I'm glad nothing more than your can was harmed. I guess those idiots have money to burn and really don't care about anyone but themselves.
I too sing praises for those who do the "dirty jobs" No thank you..not for me.
Glad Your Window on the World was safe.
Hugs
