The rest of this week, is Dump My Drafts Week. Since the day Bob broke his ankle, I have taken photos each day and then a few at a time put the photos in a post and there that have been sitting for days, weeks and even a month.
These have been in drafts for over 2 months
For MY Escape from our half of the room at Blake Hospital, July 12th, 2025
I was a short walk through the orthopedic unit and a left turn through Double Doors and
Stop and be thankful for a warm sunny hall, because the room was set on 69 degrees and the hall was 10 degrees warmer when the sun was shining. A place I could take a break and pray and talk to strangers, talk on my cell phone, read texts/emails
the windows are perfect height for leaning or sitting.
and be thankful I could walk that hall many times over 4 days. the photos on the wall are the history of the hospital. The long halls on each floor connect the Old Hospital to the New Building.
Underneath Bobs room, was the hall entrance to the hospital, turn left to the new and right to the old.
the windows framed our beautiful skies and palms over the parking lot and I could sit on the window sill and stare at the view or read the history, which I did.
Bob was discharged 2 days after I took these, to the place of his incarceration in the rehab home
the sunny hall in that home is next... to be continued...

This is an excellent series of shots to mark a time of such discomfort, as important as any scene or portrait... YAM xx
Were you able to get outside a little, too? I can only imagine that fresh air and a breeze on your skin would have been very welcome, and therapeutic.
Finding interest and beauty everywhere becomes a habit and you have certainly acquired it.
Hello,
It is good to be thankful for the small things, I do the same.
Stay strong and well!
I can't believe you were able to get so many pictures of those halls without any other people in them. That looks like a nice view out the windows.
Beautiful blog
Please read my post
The others are right - you are pretty amazing to see the beauty around you in hard times. The views really are pretty and I'm so glad you had that hall to escape to.
Thank God for those long hospital hallways that offered so much - views to the outside world, people to meet, material to read, a place to walk, think and pray. You made the most of it.
To be thankful during everything you're going through is a very cool thing you're doing. You are one tough cookie. I'm telling you. For sure. PS: Love liminal spaces like the hallways. They are so fun to walk down and shoot!
That was a very peaceful calming hallway. Gorgeous windows
Hugs Cecilia
You have to stop and smell the flowers along the way. I'm glad you do that.
Have a fabulous day and week. Big hug to you, prayers for Bob and lots of scritches to Handsome Beau. ♥
So nice to be able to look at things in such a delightful way and make the best of things. Keeping you and Bob in my prayers...I know this is a difficult time, but God is right there with you....hugs Sandra
I hope Bob is settled in to the rehab home. I also hope you can get away and just breathe. You are very brave and have such a positive attitude. Blessings!
That was quite the long haul hall there! Big hugs from all of us!
It's good that you had some place to get away and warm up/clear your head for a few minutes during Bob's stay there.
Thankfulness for the small things does the heart good.
Hugs and prayers continuing. Thanks for my email.

So bright and shiny clean! (Deceptive, perhaps?) I, too, like how you managed to find a safe place to pray and reconnect with others.
Love you!
You always find the bright side of things.
Glad you found a place to escape for a short while. It looks a nice hospital. Ours are all overcrowded.
It's important to have a place to get away and be with your thoughts for a while.
