Can You Hear Me 😱😱😱ing Part 2

Photo taken 11/04/2025First things first, Beau is doing well. Just Old Age stuff. He still steals my seat every time I get up. He says to tell you Baby its cold outside. Brr temps each morning, and Mama wears her orange hoodie. 58 to 61 lows brrrr

The last update on Bob, was  on October 28, 2025 Can You Hear Me 😱😱😱ing . I said I would not post. Sorry I have not been around to your blogs, the only reason the Halloween post hit is because I put it on auto post 2 weeks early, before I started 😱😱😱.

We saw a dermatologist on 10/30, she said, extreme reaction to a drug, she gave injection in his hip, prednisone by mouth, cream to put on rash and antihistamine to take by mouth.

Today is 11/05/2025 and the rash is still with us, but much better than it was, under control but not gone.

She took a biopsy of the large bump of hive/rash, a small cookie cutter on end of stick that took a plug of skin, flesh and hive and another biopsy that I pointed out a spot that looked suspicious. she said you may be right and took that to send off. He has had 5 melanomas and 4 other skin cancers removed in that office so she had access to records.

He goes back November 13, to get 2 stitches out of the plug of rash she took, and for results.

We are doing OK, better than we were before. We bought the bed we rented, its now living in the living room for now. He still can't walk, but a few steps with the walker.

we have PT come in once a week and RN once a week,

The infusions are canceled, the PA said they are checking into clinical trials with new meds. Most likely will not do that. He sees the Neurologist Dec 18th, the PA said blood work shows he does not have the Alzheimer Markers in his blood, the bad one he called it, and we await further information.

The best news of ALL is the hallucinations, loss of focus and sleeping around the clock, talking to people in his sleep, have stopped completely.

I had stopped Gabapentin because they made all this worse, really crazy hallucinations, and they got better with in a couple of days.

Little did we know, Benadryl was also one of the culprits. He was taking that and Tylenol to help him sleep. Bob told me the Benadryl made him feel doped and no fouch, and I stopped it. He got better, then the rash came and Nurse said give him 2 benadryl every 4 hours, and they came back.

I told this to the dermatologist and she said yes, benadryl does cause hallucinations and losing focus and sleeping around the clock, as does Gabapentin, on Some Patients. She said all NSAIDS, and any thing that messes with the brain to stop pain, and antihistamines that cause drowsiness, can do the same thing. She gave him Alegra, non drowsy and it helps with no side effects

These two drugs were the culprits for the weeks of crazy hallucinations and we already new remeron, an antidepressant does the same, all 3 drugs he has been give by DOCTORS and no one said a word about this even when I told them about the dreams and hallucinations. I just canNOT believe I had to figure it out for myself.

He also now is able to watch TV and understand what he is watching and enjoy his favorite team, Dallas Cowboys get whomped and whomped. 4 months, he could not watch a TV show

The 4 months of him crazy out of his head were caused by drugs given to him in Hospital and Rehab home, but Doctors who did not LISTEN to what I told them.

I have now advised his 3 doctors, the only meds he is taking are BP, blood thinner, cholesterol. His mind has cleared, and he no longer sees things or talks to people who are not there. He does have trouble with short term memory and can't learn new skills. like a new remote.

All in all, the report is a good one, he still can't walk, still don't know the type of dementia but he is much better than he was. None of this has helped the exhaustion of the caregiver, because I am still the Only Pioneer Woman Standing with an old dog and and old hubby to care for... Lack of sleep is my worst problem.. and makes me into a grumpy bear witchy poo that walks around in the dark with a red lantern to keep from falling down. Red lights up but doesn't blind.

I am glad that things have improved somewhat. Yes, docs prescribe drugs like candy...and don't consider the kn own side effects until they become unbearable for the person taking said drugs...as you found out. So sorry that those infusions were stopped, and cancelled, due to Biob bewing too allergic to them. Polypharmacy is another huge problem esp for elederly people.
I hope those biopsies come back negative...
And I sure hope you can get some good quality sleep. I just read today that magnolia extract can help a lot with sleep...check out Swanson.com, or a health food store.

Beau looks like he's taking a good nap to recharge his batteries.

That picture of the red reflection would make a good image for a scary time such as halloween...though I do not like the scary stuff associated with that day.
I find Halloween contrary to my Christian beliefs.

Sending tons of hugs your way.
Prayers, too.

This is wonderful news! He does not wake you up screaming and seeing things anymore! But you are still in the same predicament! Not Alzheimer's! I know there are quite a few different kinds. I hope they can pin it down, maybe then they can help him more than they are now.

I'm so glad the hallucinations are gone, but I wish you could get some sleep! I'm impressed you can do as much as you do. Love and prayers.
