Sparkling Party Glasses I

I gifted myself these Sparkling Party glasses, when I received an e-gift card for Amazon from a dear blogger friend. Bob and I drop everything we pick up, and these colorful, sparkling glasses make me happy to see the water in them, and liven up our lives, and not if but when we drop them, they are shatter proof and there will be no picking of glass our of my feet.
PLUS they are Excellent Targets for my Moodling with my cell phone.

I asked myself, is taking photos of my new glasses a waste of my time? Back to Google I went. I stumbled on The Art of Moodling, on a Blog named Thirty Thousand Days.
She wrote these  words,
One lesson I learned from my diagnosis of cancer was to “stop what I was doing.”
In A few words, this is the message I heard.

Stop,We can practice doing nothing. Resisting the urge to fill every minute productively.
Stare out the window at the cardinal.
Lay in a hammock and read (I choose my bed)
Sit, Watch the dog or cat or baby sleep.
this one hit me between the eyes.
Playing with my sketching pencils and watercolors. (no longer wanting to get good)

You all know how much I love painting in procreate. and showing it to you. I actually thought of stopping my blog, so I could Get Better and watch videos, and make them look more professional. NOT GOOD... moodling is doing what you love, for the joy of it. Stop trying to be better at it and just enjoy doing it.
Look out, more moodling is going on now that I know its ok that I don't have to compete with other moodlers to be as talented as they are, in writing, drawing, reading a book because THEY said read it.

Can you see that each of these photos has a different shadow? I played with these glasses for a full HOUR.. loved every minute of it

"Stop trying to be better at it and just enjoy doing it." Yes! That's what we want you to do. It's the joy it brings you that we care about. Would you believe I spent hours one evening taking pictures of a teddy bear? cheerfulmonk.com/2008/05/05/slipping-into-sacred-space/ It was back in 2008, I didn't get to bed until 3 in the morning, and I still think it was a great use of my time. ❤️

I DO see the shadow differences. And guess what? I have the exact same glasses; bought them on Amazon. Because they are pretty and we can't break them. But you beat me to the punch with making them into art! I never thought of that, it is a great idea. You shouldn't do anything just because others tell you, or you are supposed to do. At our age, we just need to do what we feel like and what makes us happy.

Who even knew that moodlers could be competitive? It would seem to me that the very essence of moodling is to do whatever your fancy dictates at the moment. Moodle away to your heart’s content. There is no standard for moodling, no goal to aspire to, no stars to reach for. Better keep us entertained with it, though. We look forward to the results of your moodling. We wake up in the morning wondering what Sandra will come up with next. Feel free to moodle in my life any time you want! David xo

First I love the color of those glasses. They are really pretty.
Moodling is my kind of thing and the concept of doing something just because you enjoy it is perfect. That's kind of what my daily drawings are. I don't aim to get better at it I just do it because I enjoy it.

Hello,
I am all for moodling, just do what you enjoy doing and makes you happy. The glasses are colorful and pretty, a nice subject for your creations. Take care, have a great day!

The glasses are so pretty! Shatter proof is a bonus and so is the ability to moodle with them.

What a wonderful post today...the glasses are beautiful and I think it's time for me to get back to coloring!

The glasses look very festive, and all the better for not breaking! I do think I grasp the concept of moodling even though my Google wasn't in the mood(!) yesterday to be helpful... ;) I'd say I have practised it quite a lot myself even if not having used the word...

YES !!!
Moodling is giving permission to myself to do things just for me.
I finally came to that realization that my photography doesn't have to be perfect or explained to others. Its what My Eye and Brain are telling me to do.
Love your gorgeous sparkly glasses. The colors are perfect. Love the 7UP in the glass.
(((hugs)))

What pretty and practical glasses you found. I like the philosophy of just doing what you like and not trying to perfect it.

I love the glasses, the Moodling, and the philosophy - One lesson I learned from my diagnosis of cancer was to “stop what I was doing.” I run around like a chicken with my head cut off - WHY?

These glasses are so very pretty and how nice that they do not break. I too like seeing the sparkling of the water or soda inside the glasses. The different angles and shadows are so interesting. I once took a psychology glass and what I found interesting through one class was viewing the different shapes and illusions that could be seen with the ice in the clear glasses. you made these glasses into a fun post..

And we get the benefit of your sparkly glasses. How sweet of your blogging friend to send you a gift certificate.

What a thoughtful gesture, this e-Card! Have you a favorite (party glass), or can we guests choose our own? I'm guessing Miss "Scarlett" is your favorite?
I never thought about Moodling having its "dos" and "don'ts", but that makes sense. Like crayon-ing outside the lines?
This was fun!

I'm glad you are taking time to just do what you love and not worry about results or getting better at it.
