MOODling - from my sofa

I sat reading others posts and opened Cheerful Monk.     (follow the link to see her post for her thoughts.)

moodling — long, inefficient, happy idling, dawdling and puttering.
–Brenda Ueland

I remembered that just a few minutes before I read her post, just about  4, I sat moodling on the sofa, idly tapping the screen on my phone to change the lighting of my view of the nook sparkling.

changing the light focus, lighter and lighter of what I see

Suddenly I tap compose text, send to myself, take a photo  to send, and when it asks, Remix?
Why yes, I think I will, I aimed the lens at the same view and typed Add Beau great Dane,to this photo,
Google AI did it and did it well...  I have been moodling and did not know it.
My Dive down the moodling rabbit hole, causes more hours of moodling.

Do you moodle? Are you a moodler? Which of the below are you?
Did you know moodling is a valid word? Even for Scrabble. Have you heard of it before now?

1. Moodling is a creative practice of aimless, imaginative daydreaming and idling, often used by writers for inspiration (as defined by Brenda Ueland),

2.  "Mindful moodling," a calm, doodling-focused activity for mental well-being, using stamps, stencils, and patterns without pressure for a final product.
(this one fits me the best, but I am some of all)

3. Moodling is unstructured, happy dawdling, allowing ideas to surface, or simply relaxing and enjoying the process of creating without an agenda.

4.  moodler is a word and is a verb, meaning to doodle, or dawdle mindlessly

Yes, I do pretty much the same thing. But I am SO glad you have the time to do this and take time just for yourself!! LOVE the Dane and snowman!

It is a new word for me, I do think I have done moodling.
Cute photo of Beau and the snowman.
The lights are a cheerful sight.
Take care, enjoy your day!

I know the word - but hadn't heard or thought of it for a long time. Of the list, I am probably closest to number three... although I do tend to be a rather more structured user of time. The Dane picture is really very good! YAM xx

Yes, apparently I am a moodler. I had no idea I was though.
I'm laughing because your comment on my blog this morning asked why I didn't have one in my yard. Now I know the answer is actually because it's sitting in your living room

Moodling is a term completely new to me, but it seems like a very fine activity, a state of mind we should all aspire to, and I will see what I can do to become a moodier!

The last word should be moodler not moodier. Auto correct doesn’t like it at all!

I haven't had time to moodle lately, but I usually do at night time. I enjoy sitting in my chair and while Sam is watching football, I moodle. Thanks for giving us the official definitions of moodling..

Moodling is a new fun tool for MD.
Beau as a Great Dane is fun.
I am a day dreamer of sorts I suppose. Especially when it comes to blogging

I've never heard that word before but I like it! I do online scrapbooks for my grandkids and there is a lot of moodling involved.

I think I may need to spend more tie moodling, what a wonderful word and practice!

I love that you're doing things for you. It's so important.

Have a fabulous day and week. Big hug to you and lots of scritches to handsome Beau. ♥

I wasn't aware there was a name for it. In fact I moodle all the time. I moodle in the shower, while I cook and clean the house and when I take my walks. I probably spend too much time moodling. I moodle when I am creating, and I moodle when I garden. I also love to paint because I do some of my best moodling, while rolling paint on the walls.
Cool, now there's a legitimate name for what I always thought was just over thinking or daydreaming.

Never heard the word moodle (that I can recall) and when I google it, I don't get any of those definitions but only references to a specific computer system... I get what you mean, though!

Sometimes moodling happens whether you're in the mood or not! Big hugs from all of us!

This is a new word for me too. I do think I a pretty good moodlier...
I have been doing a whole lot of it lately. I do some of my best while doing mundane tasks. There are a whole lot of Rabbit Holes that have my name on them.
Incidentally I sent you a Christmas card and it was returned to me yesterday. Written across the front of the envelope were the words: Return to Sender. Addressed to Walmart ...
I will email you the picture.

Yep, me too! ...provided I can sit still and stay awake longer than 10 minutes.
Forget what Time magazine's words of the year, I think MOODLING should become a permanent part of our everyday speech.

Oh, a new word to moodle my noodle about! I love it. And I thought that was Beau with the snowman, but then I thought, "Beau must be growing taller! " I love all the photos, and I couldn't figure out the pictures on the left until I realized they were from your TV! LOL. I love your sparkly nook! It's beautiful!!!!! I love this new word, and will have to spend some time moodling about it.

I suppose I'm a moodler occasionally, but I'm not one to do much doodling.

I love your moodling - I guess I didn't know that word - but I do some too - not like you of course.

No doodling, and as for moodling, there's not much time for it right now, but maybe someday.

I am a moodler and I love your moodling of every kind.
