A First For Me...my new toy

Meet "Precious" MY new Leaf Blower, the first one I have ever owned.
So tired from sweeping the pool deck and the front porch, sidewalk and driveway, I spent 2 days, reading and watching videos, comparing and overthinking.
For 2 days Bob fussed about me buying one.
For 2 days, I ignored him, even yelled at him once.

Monday I kept checking the front porch, looking at the tracking #, waiting and waiting. Precious showed up at 2:45, Charged 30 minutes, she takes and hour, but came half charged.
I will not repeat our conversation while I "unboxed" Precious, I watched the man below, all the way from UK, showing how to unbox and use BEFORE I ordered it because I knew if it was NOT EASY, it was not for me.

The short story of unboxing, I am following steps in my head I had watched, Bob is saying that is not right give it to me. A Few Times.
I may have yelled Shut Up. 😇
I came to a halt when trying to easily snap the battery to the charger. Bob kept saying give it to me.😇😇

I finally gave it to him, he did what he thought was right, while I said that is not right, I WATCHED the Video, you did NOT, and I plugged it in and no red light.
Without saying One Word, 😇😇😇😇
I unplugged it, pulled up Stampy, the guy with the British Accent, the guy in the video, and went to the part about putting the battery on, and saying AHA! I held Precious up and slapped her Battery on the Butt with my hand and boom, she was charging. I forgot he had to hit her to get her on the charger.
I sat waiting!
Sitting on Sofa I Saw the Light Turn Green and raced outside and in 15 minutes I had blown the pool deck, cleaned the ditch of leaves, blew leaves off the sidewalk, porch and driveway.
Without Hurting Myself. She only ways less than 5 lbs with battery included.
I came in clutching her to my heart and said I love this, I am naming her Precious.
I put her back on the charger, she was ready in 30 minutes.

I may have slapped the battery on the blower, when she turned green, and did a quick draw, you know like in a western, and said she is Ready to Roll, next time and placed her in MY Closet, not the garage.
She is skinny, lightweight, less than 5 lbs with battery on and fast and LOUD and only cost $37.99
She runs on low for 30 minutes, on high for 20 and I will never work longer than that anyway.
Precious is all Mine.
PS: our pollen count that day was 9, and pollen is everywhere, floating in the pool, and I looked like I was covered in yellow powder, and had to take a shower to stop my nose from running. I love her anyway.

I kind of felt like you when I got my first battery powered chain saw...but I HAD to be able to use it, and now I have 'graduated' to a bigger one, of the same kind. But, um...mine don't have names, LOL! So now I have three different sizes of battery powered chain saws, a battery powered grass clipper fo r the edges and a battery powered tire inflator. What's next?? Who knows. The problem is they all have different chargers and batteries so I cannot interchange them...oh well, they will all find their place in our storage areas.

I am very glad that you persevered and that Precious is doing the job she was designed to do. May you have a long and happy relationship. It occurs to me, Sandra, that you may be the only person ever to name a leaf blower! And that’s precious!

Oh my goodness! Now I've heard everything! LOL. I never heard of anyone naming their leaf blower before, and especially a name like "Precious"!, But, that tells me just how much it means to you to be able to accomplish that feat yourself, and that explains why it is so precious to you! I like the "light weight" part... I actually weed-whacked last week...just whacked the tall weeds growing in the lot where our drain-field for the septic tank is, and even though our week whacker is electric, it is still a bit heavy when you start swinging it back and forth...and well, let's just say it has taken all week for my weak arms to recover! We have a battery operated one that is much lighter, but neither hubby or I could get the new string wound around in it correctly...so it will have to wait on our lawn expert son to some fix it (and maybe do the weed whacking for us next time??). Love this story. So happy for you to have a new toy!!!

Hello,
Sounds like Precious was a good purchase, even with the trouble hooking it all up with the battery. I am all for anything that makes life easier. Take care, enjoy your day and the week ahead.

Congratulations on your new toy=tool... Not having a garden of my own I don't need one, I just have to stand others using it when necessary... ;)

How funny you are! The battery part reminds me of trying to learn my hand-dandy weed eater ... on without benefit of a video.
Meanwhile back at the ranch ... our leaf blower's still sitting by the front door waiting for someone (me) to plug it in and aim. (It's not terribly heavy, I'm just lazy.)

That is fabulous news. So happy for you. Definitely worth the money and having it for blowing all the leaves.

I love your story about the leaf blower. I don't know what we would do if we didn't have ours. Ours is heavy as is our weed whacker. The story about the battery is right on. We did the same thing and have to remember to slap the battery on the butt to get it fitted to charge.
Saving time and energy is such a God send. Kudos to you my friend.
I'm headed out to the backyard right now to physically dig up invasive weeds that have overtaken our lawn. What a job but I'm thankful I can do it "one day at a time ... Sweet Jesus ..."

Mom uses hers a lot (especially now that leaves are coming down after the Big Freeze!)

You are such a smart lady had to laugh when you said shut up and give it to me. We still have snow and a bit of nasty weather last night.

Those cordless ones are great, I love mine too! Hey, never leave the charger plugged in, especially if you have to leave the house. Big hugs from all of us!

Sandra, when we moved four years ago, I bought one. My husband wasn't thrilled. Guess who uses it all the time now!

Hands down the BEST post I've read today. Good on you for sticking to your guns and getting a new toy that you love and will help. I see the western and I also saw Alien the movie too. Ripley. Love it. Love that you got this for yourself.

Cool!! I'm going to have get one of those battery powered leaf blowers too because I have the same charger & battery! Thanks for the idea. I have a "precious" too, the battery powered hand saw. That thing is GREAT! Works like a charm. So easy to use and low maintenance.
Sorry I've been quiet. Miss talking to you.
Love from your Gawga Kuz'n. 😇
