Years ago one of my flatmates had a Boxer with epilepsy - poor dog.
Never having owned a dog I am woefully ignorant of the illnesses from which they suffer. Epilepsy sounds quite terrible, as it is for humans, of course.
I didn't realize that dogs could have epilepsy. Glad to hear that medication can manage the symptoms.

Well, I learned something new today. I did not know about epilepsy in dogs either! I'm glad it can be controlled with medication, but I imagine that is quite expensive. I love your purple pics, and thank you for the information!

My velcro dog, Frodo the Faller, a beautiful Dalmatian, had epilepsy for most of his life. I always slept with one ear open. We gated the bedroom so that he wouldn't stumble out in the post-ictal stage and tumble down the stairs. It's frightening to see, but sadly, you soon get used to it.
We should always be aware...such a sad thing!

Good for you, raising awareness for canines with epilepsy. Even cats can have it, but it doesn’t have to mean putting the animal down. The right treatments can make their lives good and healthy.

I especially like the cat doing yoga or whatever she's doing and the next one with you peeking into the picture of the purple haired girl. My second schnauzer, who had a class 4 heart murmur, also developed epilepsy and died at 19 months old. It's a terrible thing.
