Go Purple March 26 K-9 Epilepsy Awareness Day

Canine Epilepsy Awareness is primarily observed on March 26th as part of International Purple Day®, with specific focus on #PAWS4PURPLE to support dogs with epilepsy, also known as "Epi-warriors". The day aims to raise awareness, share, and educate on, as well as de-stigmatize, the neurological condition.

Canine epilepsy is a common, often genetic, neurological disorder causing recurrent seizures due to abnormal brain activity, most frequently appearing in dogs under 5 years old. Symptoms include convulsions, loss of consciousness, stiffening, paddling, and drooling. While incurable, it is managed with lifelong medication to improve quality of life
