Words Written In Red

In my Our Daily Bread devotional booklet, Thursday, June 17th, the daily reading is titled
"Why Suffer?"                Read it at RBC the reading spoke to my heart.

After reading this out of the booklet, I picked up my very old KJV bible and flipped it open to find the scripture. it fell open to the middle of II Corinthians and my eyes were drawn to the only verse on those two pages that was written in red (Jesus words are written in red in some Bibles). I read these words and went no further, they were not the ones I went to look up but the words He wanted me to read and share.

My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. 1 Cor.12: 9

THE WEAKER WE FEEL, THE HARDER WE LEAN ON GOD

I was thinking I need to pay more attention to the "words written in red." and I remembered this song.

WHAT A POST! In my opinion, your best ever! I have always said that struggling and suffering only make you stronger. We who are believers are so blessed to know that we have someone bigger than ourselves to depend on, and that He will never leave us. I have always loved this song by B & D. You made me cry this morning, good tears. Glad you are my Sista.

Wow!!! You knocked my socks off today!! I'm starting up a bible study, and you would be so great to run it with me!!! And so very cool, you've introduced me to a new pretty song that I really like! I can't wait to show Phil. Of course I've heard of this group, but don't know anything they do. I knew in the beginning of the video that the old man was going to die, I just knew it!! And when the grown up boy ran back to the little house, I thought at first he was going to get that picture to put on the coffin. A very well made and engrossing video.

Great post - Love that song. I've heard it many times but hadn't seen the video. Those words written in red (highlighted in yellow!) ;o) xoxo

Hi Sandra, I love Brooks and Dunn... They are no longer together. DARN!!!! I have several of their CD's.... "I Believe" is one of the best songs I think...

It's interesting what happens when we open the Bible up --and some scripture just jumps out at us.. That is the scripture that God wants us to read and think about... It works every time.

Hope you have a great Father's Day.
Hugs,
Betsy

Sandra..oh my, you wouldn't believe the confounded distractions or interruptions I got while trying to post a comment from last night! Well, I'm here and oh goodness, no worries - I love the mix of reactions, besides this is one of my favorite places to be!! Now, this quote above below your gorgeous purple flowers together with this "their lack of self-sufficiency is obvious to them every day. They must turn somewhere for strength". I loved it with the meaningful verses! Thank you Sandra, more could be said, but this spoke to me!
