Tinted moisturizer on Limited Income

Limited Income MAKE Do Make Up
Each night, my routine is wash face with Dove soap and water, cleanse with cotton pad soaked in Witch Hazel, go to bed and watch 20 minutes of QVC/HSN..
No, I don't use ponds before bed. I wake up with Big's black hair glued to my face. ha ha.

Tinted moisturizer can cost from $46.00 to $59.00 on shopping channels.

I NEVER shop these channels. I watch to get IDEAS of how to do it CHEAPER.

Ponds Cold Cream used by my Grandmothers/Mother, is still on the market at $4.97

Rimmel Stay Matte cream foundation is $4.97.

TOTAL COST for tinted moisturizer  is $9.94

Ponds lasted almost a year, Rimmel 6 months. I use 1 dot of Ponds on each cheek, spread over face, 1 dot of Rimmel on each cheek. And it stays from 5:15 until I take it off.
Covers all the age spots and some wrinkles.
At least my face is all one shade, not six.

You do not want to see me without my tinted moisturizer. I never leave the house without it. I wanted to show you what I look with out it. I JUST CAN'T, but I don't look like this.  THIS is WITH my Make do Make Up!

I use witch hazel for itchy skin on legs and arms and clean my face with it twice a day.
Witch Hazel $3.97 and I bought that, then  I found it is $2.47 for Wal-Mart brand. Just pore the witch hazel from ugly bottle to pretty bottle and there you have my Tinted Moisture.

I could swear we had a bottle of Witch Hazel in the linen closet … but no. Make that 3 additions to Monday's WM list! My only fear is getting the wrong shade foundation. Yep, that's happened more than once.

PS - On the advice of another blogger, I spent the extra money on CeraVe. Unfortunately, it's so heavy and cloying … and a pain in the patootie to keep the dogs from licking.

I'm with you ....never ever got into permanently using 'brand name' facial
products. WEll you know the kind at the department stores.
I do have allergies but have found any Aveeno product is perfect.
I wash with Aveeno scrub at night, followed by cotton swab of Sea Breeze which I think is similar to Witch Hazel, love the fresh scent of both. Then Aveeno moisturizer. The two Aveeno cleansers both last 3-6 months too.
Morning I use Aveeno foaming facial soap and moisturizer. My make up is
5.50 bottle of Cover Girl.

I am using the witch hazel too, I heard it is good for the skin. I do not wear makeup, I find most brands have some kind of scent that makes me feel ill. I hope you are staying cool. Enjoy your day!

I barely moisturise, never mind put anything else on! Cold water and not much else gets near my face. Once a week, maybe, I'll remember I've got cream on the shelf. YAM xx

Unfortunately I didn't really have much of a facial routine when I was younger..now I'm paying for it with wrinkles.
My skin is so fair that I use a moisturizer with PBA 15 every day. Night time is Nutragina moisture make up remover and then WM collegen cream...not sticky and just makes my skin feel great.

Haven't ever used cover up except for a zit or two.

You definitely look lovely and young.

You are so cool! I love this post. After I moved up here, I stopped using makeup. I put on sunscreen if I plan to be outside a lot. I walk the dogs without it because it's early and some sun is good for you. I use some face cream, I think its L'oreal or however you spell that. I usually don't do anything at night except wash my face. I've never been good about taking care of my skin. Lucky me, I have no age spots on my face. YET! They're underneath there, I know they are, and will pop up sooner or later. I would look a lot better with some mascara, but I just can't be bothered. I'm a mountain woman now, I guess.

I have to admit I do use a level up - because it is organic and I have so many allergies.
The only other thing and maybe I missed it in your kit - is there a sun screen - most important thing you can put on.
Plus it keeps the skin from aging.

You are beautiful and how nice for you to share some of your beauty secrets! I'm allergic to most things so I use Curel for sensitive skin and a big bottle lasts a long time. Enjoy your weekend!

I rarely use anything on my face, makeup or moisturizers. If I decide to start I'll keep your ideas in mind because the thriftyness of it appeals to me. I don't know how people can afford some of this stuff they have out

I never heard of Rimmel, but it must be good! These are great tips. When I was young, it used to take me about two hours to apply my makeup. Now I don't wear any, except for some lipstick once in awhile. That is ironic, considering I didn't need any when I was young, and now I DO!

I would never have thought to do that! Glad it works for you.

Thanks for all the great tips, Sandra. Who doesn’t like saving $ these days. Homemade products are usually better than the expensive counerparts.

Good ideas Sandra.

I loved you before and I love you now even more!!! Those crazy expensive 'tinted moisturizers' are WAY beyond my budget! You know I follow whatever YOU do. Remember the makeup you wore a few years ago? Remember I went out and bought the same? Trust me - my credit card turns over on Tuesday (I'm on a budget) and I will be at Walmart buying all of this!!! THANK you!

You are so smart to figure out what works for you and not spend much money to do it. I was blessed with good genes from both sides of my family and my face needs very little care. I do not use makeup or any kind of cleaning products other than water on my face. I do use a bit of moisturizer if needed in the winter, but it is rare. Hugs

I really must try your regimen! I am not liking what I'm seeing in the mirror these days but didn't know where to start. Thanks for sharing your photo, it's nice to be able to "see" the inspirer behind the inspiration.

I like Witch Hazel too. I do wear two different make-ups from QVC. Depends on where I'm going. If I'm home I wear nothing.
