Sweet Memories

This is the ornament I purchased for our first Christmas together. It is ragged and old and not as shiny as it was, Just like us!

I thought while showing a memory from the past, I would share my lack of memory these days!

Each day I step out of bed, rush to the bathroom, go right back to the bed and make it up. I really can't stand to see an unmade bed.

When we came home from the YMCA pool, I turned the corner into the bedroom, and was Shocked to see only 2 pillows on one side, the other 5 were still in the chair. I would have sworn  I made that bed up... How did that happen?  At first I thought Big Boy must have moved those pillows. I have never done that before.

I have often started houseworks of various types only to come back to rooms and discover I had left them mid task and forgotten all about them... YAM xx

No big deal. At least the bed was made up for the day. For me it's thinking of something to add to grocery list...walk to my phone to add it, and I FORGET what I was going to add!
Love your 1st Christmas ornament.

I like your ornament.
I do that all the time. I get distracted doing something and never remember to get back to what I started.

If misery loves company . . .
I find myself asking for forgiveness of the times I was annoyed when my mom did the same thing. At the time she didn't seem old to me and I just didn't understand her unfinished project in another room. Now I do.

I am with you on an unmade bed. Maybe it was that sneaky elf on a shelf.
I love the ornament....shiny maybe not but it is as lasting as your partnership.

Well, now I can see an advantage of not having too fixed routines to begin with! (I.e. something like that I would not even note as "forgotten", just as something not done yet!)

I dont mind unmade beds...I really prefer a bed made, but the cover turned back as if I were getting ready to go to bed. Roger wants his made.

That first ornament is so dear!

I'm the same way about making the bed (almost) first thing.
But, if I were you ...I'd be blaming it on some rogue elf. 'Tis the season and all, right?

I agree that maybe the Elf on the Shelf had something to do with the pillows.
I love a bed made...Dave is my bed maker except when we change the sheets.
Our bed is a Cal King and very high. That fitted sheet is a real bear to put on by one's self. We have a memory foam pad on the top of the mattress which needs to be turned every so often. It's a two person job.
Love your first year ornament. Precious memories. Our memory ornaments are mostly from our trips and things our daughter in laws have made. Oh yes, I have several ornaments my Mom made too.
That's what I like about decorating our tree. I think about the reason for most of the ornaments and the people too.
Going on our Wednesdate brunch in a while so I better get to a few things first.

You forgot it! Same here, I forget so much! Especially where I go in a room, and don't remember why. We keep our bedroom door closed so Simba cannot get in. So no one ever sees it. So lately I have taken to only smoothing the covers over it, and not even putting the bedspread on. I love the ornament from so long ago. And REALLY love the crisp shadow.Do you display it anywhere?

Your ornament shows it love. And I have done the bedroom thing myself! Sandra I went to a church dinner last night. I was trying and telling them about you Whiskey and Smile. We tried and tried and tried - on Iphones. Went back and saw it was an Android you have. LOLOLOL

I don't like an unmade bed either. Now about those pillows. They must have been moved by someone else.😊

Sandra, I am one who does not make the bed immediately after rising and will admit that sometimes it stays unmade. The covers however are pulled back for "airing." Thanks for sharing the sweet first ornament.

That is a beautiful ornament, priceless! I enjoyed you sharing it with us, thank you so much. As for the memory thing, I often find myself saying huh! Because I thought I had done something when in truth I hadn't.

I love the ornament. I have some old engraved ornaments. I don't put them on the tree but I still have them. I also love to make the bed right away!
