Nature Friday and the big green plant

The pothos plant on the left has been hanging in our kitchen for 32 years. It has been repotted when it started to look like the one on the right side. when it gets root bound, Bob Appleseed would, after a lot of nagging, take it down and break it in half and report it and shortly it looked like the one on the left.

This time I waited to long to Nag him into it and because his knees hurt, nagging did not work and the plant is past being repotted. I searched in every store that has a garden shop and there were none to be found. I thought just buy a new one and start over.

On Amazon, they had plants to start one. This one says 3 inch pots, 18.99. It hurt but I ordered them and potting soil and a new pot.

The pot came first, I loved it. and then

This arrived, this box, in my mail box, after 5 days on the road with USPS, US mail.
It had these 2 plants wrapped in plastic stuffed in the box and 3 leaves on one and 2 on the other.
Compare what I got, to the photo from Amazon above.
Oy Vey!

Just how long will it take for these to fill this pot?

No, I am not sending them back, I just can't deal with it. I trimmed the old plant

Stuck them in water to start to root and will take the root ball and mess with it and put it all together in the new white pot and wait for it to all DIE!
Because I have a black thumb.
I put a bad review on the product. Take that Amazon!

But wait, there is more   To Be Conitnued................

I can't wait to read the rest! I have read that Amazon is really good to buy live plants from. I have been thinking about buying a plant from them muself! Maybe a full grown plant would look better. They may have been small, but they look healthy. Nevertheless, what you got does not look like what they showed! It is unbelievable that you had that plant tof so LONG! That makes what happened kind of sad.

Knowing Amazon, they rejected your review...they did one of mine.

Ours is about 30 years old. It started from a cutting from a friend that we put in water. We're also have other cuttings that did well in just water, no soil. They are amazing plants.

"We also have" I should probably read what my fingers type. 😊

That’s so disappointing!

Is that related to the stuff that goes wild over the fence out the back? If you have kept it alive in the kitchen for 32 years you haven't got black thumbs at all.

I'm sure it will survive & thrive!!

I have one that was Wades from before we were married. I haven't killed it yet but it looks like the picture on the right at the top.
There's a big difference between what you ordered and what you got.

Hello,

It looks better in the pots, I hope your Pothos in the water grows well and that one can be potted too. Take care, have a great day and weekend!

Just rooting pieces of the original plant is definitely the way to go - and free!

Truth in advertising .... NOT! What a disappointment; I'm glad you're sending it back.
5 days, seriously? I don't order so much anymore, but usually my orders arrive via UPS. I don't have words suitable for a G-rated blog to say how I feel about the USPS.

Black thumb or not...32 years of that plant is quite amazing.
I think your little guys are going to thrive...it just may take a little time..Boo to Amazon and their Truth in advertising...
Can't wait for the to be continued.
I have killed all my indoor plants..so sad...
No more for me..

Yes they are pretty tiny but I understand not dealing with returning them. One of these days I have to work on one of mine. I also have some rooting in water.

I would be rather nervous to order plants that had to be sent to me. I wondered why you didn’t check your favorite Walmart, Sandra.

Give them drinks of weak, weak fertilizer, dilute it, just give it good sips, give it spring water! It will grow so fast! I am glad you told the truth on your review, it helps everyone when the true reviews go up on Amazon. I wonder what is happening now, though...the "to be continued" has me curious!!!

You are worlds ahead of me - NEVER thought to buy plants on Amazon.

Good luck. My plants die if I had to cut pieces and re plant.

I'm going to look for one of these. I need hardy plants as I don't exactly have a green thumb as much as I love flowers and plants.
