I purchased the above statue, the one on the left, ha ha, in 1989.
I was shopping for small plaster Christmas ornaments to paint, all the rage that year.
There sat this unpainted statue. I had seen one painted at the Flea Market and wanted it, but it was 70 dollars. This one was 15 dollars.
I brought it home and hand rubbed paint on it until I was happy with it, and since that day it has been on the kitchen counter.
The day I brought it home, Bob said "why did you buy that?"
I said "Really?? You don't Know?"
He looks JUST LIKE YOU.
The photo on the left is 1987 of Bob and I at my Son's wedding.
Last week, I removed the Christmas tree from the kitchen counter and struggles across the floor carrying the 45-pound statue and sitting it down, I declared,
I want to get rid of this thing but who would want it?
Bob said
"You can't get rid of that, he's, my brother!"
And we had a long loud laugh.

Goodness, he DOES look like Bob! You did a great job with the paint, it looks burnished, like it was not even painted, but like some kind of polished stone. What is it made out of, anyway? So what are you going to do with it?
What a great comment!
well said... please keep the brother... ;O)))

This was a great story, Sandra, and you know you can't get rid of that statue because it is part of the family, after all.
That's too funny.
Hello Sandra.:=) Well well!! Bob has a sense of humour after all. His comment is priceless. You can't get rid of it now, he's a member of the family.
It is great that you and yours can share a good laugh together. I, too, have a spouse who has a sense of humor. The only downside is that he often causes me break into inelegant
guffaws in inappropriate venues . . . like church or the doctor's office.
