It's Fry-Day

Photo is snip of the email I received from Wal-Mart last week.

On Thursday I purchased a bag of frozen french fries.
Friday, 24 hours after I shopped Walmart, I received this email from Walmart that said
Thank You for buying our potatoes, here are a few items on sale that might interest you.
Photos of a Ninja Air Fry Toaster oven, Deep Fry InstaPot, baking sheet and a long list of items related to potatoes.
They must have a bot that picks up what we buy, looks for the address connected to my Walmart account, grabs the email
and it chooses related items to sell to me.
We know this happens  when we go on line the ads follow us, but this is the first time I ever received an email that connected to a day before purchase.
Several years ago we were all worried about Big Brother Govt watching us and now we have the stores Eagle Eyes Upon Our Purchases.
I worked retail and we were required to off add ons to each purchase.
Customer buys underwear, offer socks on sale.
Buy a table, offer them a lamp.
Unbelievable!
PS. We just watched Netflix  true crime, unlimited series called Unbelievable that was very interesting.
A twisting, turning think you know who done it until the very end.

Kroger sends us coupons in the mail, a whole packet of them maybe once a month. And they are only things we buy! Really good coupons with things totally free too.

There are no secrets any more! Those cookies will reveal all. I bought frozen French Fries from our local supermarket the other day. We are kind of picky about our French fries but these were very good.

The one that annoys me is Amazon. I purchase something and the next day I get emails saying we think we found something you might like. The thing is, it's exactly what I just bought. I don't get why they do that.

yep, adverts and my google searches follow me - but also it's entertaining when I decide I need more food (I online shop) and even though I hardly ever "save" anything on the program, it reminds me of some long forgotten purchase and reads like "did you forget..."

...well, yes, but you always have the option to alter your contact preferences - or unsubscribe to such emails... I get next to no such things because I just turn all options off. YAM xx

Hello,
It is scary, the ads and emails show how much they are following us.
I will check out that Netflix series. Take care, enjoy your day!

I am sure that every click of the keyboard is followed. Privacy is merely an illusion.

More than a bit spooky - that is very spooky and extremely invasive. Mind you these things are stupid - I regularly get ads prompting me to buy something that they could only know about because I just bought it. Why would I want a second one?

Growing up as a 'government kid', I'm not really surprised. Big Brother's been watching us for years ... they're just being more obvious about it now.
Now, inquiring minds want to know what's that white stuff sprinkled on the fries? I'm not a big fan of FF, but that picture makes me want to pick up a few.

Yes, for sure...nothing is hidden and there's no place to hide.. It is a bit creepy to my way of thinking.
Off to Lynne's for an morning stint today..Karen has an early appointment. Good thing is I get to go home early.
Today starts a month of being back at Celebrate Recovery doing desserts. The people in charge have to help their daughter in law that is having surgery and then they go on vacation. So my Fry--days will be full again. It is what it is and I can do it for just a month.
Enjoy your weekend.

It is amazing and sadly not in a good way, Sandra. I too notice that going to sites online means ads from those places sill show up on other sites. At least once a week, I check and clear out some previously visited sites. That said, I hVe never received a follow up from ghe supermarkets we shop at to suggest other purchases, thank goodness.

Big brother has been watching us for a long time and listening.

So Kelly and I went to a Chinese dinner the other night - a robot rolled out our soup! Can you believe that? They didn't set it on the table.

I have seen robots at Walmart taking invemtory.

Who needs people?
