Photo Dump from Milton

It has been 3 months since Milton, left overs POST FOUND IN DRAFTS since Dec 11
It has been 8 weeks today, since Hurricane Milton Kicked us in to chaos and we are mostly back to normal. I found these photo that had not been posted, consider this the anniversary Photo Dump

These are photos of the trash Bob dug out of the pool. He was scooping it out and I was dragging it to the front curb, he would throw it on the deck. I dragged a big garbage can to the side of the pool and said fill the can and I will drag it to the curb, dumping it on the deck is double work.

the next photos you can't see what is under the water because the water was green and dark

The Pool was full to the top, it is 5 feet deep on one end and 10 on the other.
It took bob 3 days to get it to what you see below

and the pile to the front of below photo is what he dragged out of the pool, and I dragged to the curb.

That looks backbreaking and must be a relief to get it all done. I expect you have a lot more to do? I hope not though. And as Ginny said, I like your new header also.

Oh my what a lot of work for a pair of oldies. I don't know how you did it. Well done. Hope you don't get another one any time soon.

Well done, between the two of you the work got done.
It does look like hard work, my back would be sore.
Take care, enjoy your day!

That’s an arduous task for young people let alone a couple of old codgers and you did well to get it all done. Thankfully, things are pretty much back to normal, but you must look forward with dread to the next hurricane season. Fingers and toes crossed that it passes you by.

That had to have been exhausting work for both of you. I can't imagine having to drag stuff out of 10 feet deep water. That garbage can must have been pretty heavy to drag to the curb too.

It looks as though all your neighbours had similar piles of rubbish!

Oh, wet debris is the hardest and heaviest to deal with, and getting it up and out of the pool must have been very difficult...then dragging it to the curb. I know you were sore for days. I pray this year's hurricane season is MUCH calmer and goes somewhere totally different. Right now we are under a winter storm watch, here in Florida! Supposedly there was snow coming down this morning when I woke up, but I couldn't see anything that resembled snow. Maybe just a light misty rain. It's very cold and windy now and is a good day to stay inside and not attempt to go anywhere. They actually cancelled schools today, because of the wind chill and it was raining SO hard last night and making things very slippery out there, so I'm glad the little kids aren't out there waiting for school busses. Hope you have a pleasant day. I like your new header...it's electrifying!!

Seeing these photos just saddens my heart for so many people who were in the path of Milton. So much damage and so much clean up. Thankful that you are making a big turn around in getting things somewhat put back together. Hopefully by Summer, your backyard will be lush and beautiful.

That's a lot of work. What a mess. Hurricane Helene is what gave us a fit. Now we're sitting here with 5 inches of snow (!!!!) with ice underneath and can't drive out. Yep. We tried. Got stuck. Had to dig our way back. LOL I'm such a snow rookie. That said, I'm so done with these storms. ⭐

Milton was a BEAST so thankful you are on this side of the mess
We awoke to 2" of snow it was dry and fluffy so we were able to sweep it off no shovel required.
It is gonna be only mid 20's today so we didn't want it to freeze. OMDs my daughter and son in law and kitties live on the coast of NC . Snow there is RARE...they had 5.5" over night. Hardly any snow removal equipment there so they are working from home
