I got nothing but you get something anyway! Left Overs from my drafts more than a month ago. Its been 9 weeks since Bob stopped walking.
Because the big fern loves the front porch, and the begonia in the pot on the front porch bench, died, I replaced it with ferns, which I yanked out of the fern bed under the window.
I picked this and sat on the kitchen sink and admired them all day and snapped photos just for you.
Well really, they were for me, the MAD Snapper. Next morning the flowers were closed.
I sat them on the kitchen table in the sunshine and watched them and when the sun moved, I sat them in the window and at lunch time they were all open again...
Above was from April 1st, below from April 16
this is how the fern looks now, 2 months later, I totally forgot they were on the porch and it all died, 3 pots of ferns and the one year old begonia, dead and gone.
The good news is, the staghorn that we thought was dying from Hurricane Milton knocking it about 7 months ago, shouted hallelujah when last week we got 2 inches of rain and is looking great
Also I stepped out on the porch last week and lo and behold the Columbian House, that is what we call it, has added green lights. I love it, Bob says it looks like a Motel 6. I still love it.
Last but not least, when there is nothing to post about I just grab things I see and post it
Below is my rice pasta salad and the new topping is delish..
Sumac! I love the tasted and its IBS friendly.. delish on fish, but don't bake it on the first, sprinkle after, because the ground up Sumac turned back into tiny pieces of
TREE haha when baked

I think it’s a fine post and very creatively done. You have to work with what’s around you. I think the Columbian House with its green lights looks like the local bordello! Keep a close eye open for the ladies of the night and especially for their clients. You never know who you might see!
Hello,
I love the flowers in the kitchen, they are so pretty.
YAY for rain and for the Staghorn surviving. A great come back.
Those green lights on the neighbors house would annoy me.
Your salad looks yummy! Sending my continued prayers for you and Bob. Take care, enjoy your day!
Flowers feed the soul, as good food feeds the body. So you do "got something", important somethings! In an otherwise upside-down life. Hang on to those wonderful somethings, each and every day ... and don't look back at nine-weeks, look forward to tomorrow, one never knows what good things may come in the days ahead ... that staghorn renewed itself, did it not?
For having nothing you sure did give us something. Too bad about the ferns and the begonia. That sounds like something I would do though. I'm forever forgetting to water things.
LOL on Bob saying that house looks like a Motel 6.
That sald looks really yummy. I've never heard of Sumac as a topping. Those plates are really pretty.
Isn't that amazing how the pretty little flowers close their eyes at night, then follow the sun. (There's a lesson for the rest of us!) How great that the staghorn came back to life when y'all least expected!
Good one, Bob on the Motel 6 reference ... I grinned out loud!
Special thanks to YOU for continuing to post!
It may be nothing to you, but you made a good post from all the elements. Thank you. 😊
The flowers in the kitchen are so pretty!
I can see why you forgot those plants, you've had a lot going on. Glad the staghorn is coming back!
Thanks for checking in Sandra, and you know how I love seeing your random thought posts!

That's a whole lotta somethin' outta nothin'!!! Brava that woman... YAM xx
You did good with this post...The Staghorn is doing well...Yay!! Often, there is nothing exciting going on around here so my mind has to really think of what to post. Some post are good.....some post are yikes! lol.... so neat how the flowers opened back up after you moving them to the sun....
Those little pink flowers are so pretty. Sorry you lost the ferns and begonia. You have had way too much on your mind to even think about them. The staghorn looks great. I've never heard of Sumac and had to look it up. Take care.
It's always fun to peek into those drafts, and these "leftovers" are wonderfully real, Mad Snapper! I appreciate your honesty about the fern situation—we've all been there with a plant or two (or three!). But that staghorn fern's comeback and the new green lights on the Columbian House? Those are truly bright spots.
I just shared a new post, I invite you to read and let me know what you think.
Hello. How is it going?
This wonderfully candid post is full of heart, humor, and the magic of everyday life. Even with “nothing,” you’ve shared so much from porch plant drama to kitchen flower joys, from weathered ferns to a surprising staghorn comeback.
The way you capture the small, beautiful, and sometimes funny details (like the Sumac turning into a “tree” again!) makes it a joy to read.
My friend
Your voice shines through with warmth and wit proof that even leftovers from the drafts folder can turn into a feast. Keep up the good work
I just like hearing from you and what is going on. When you said you were quitting blogging, I had a panic attack!
Whenever we are in any kind of crisis, it is always the plants that come last and suffer for it. I love the bench with fern and cushions! The flower pot matches the cushions!!! Is that just a coincidence? I, also, love the green light!
Thanks for the fun post, it really made me smile. Hang in there, I'm always thinking about you all.
Your nothing to say always turns into a very enjoyable post, and I can see from all your blogging friends, they think so too. You have such a witty turn of phrase, plus interesting photos. I was smiling all the way through.
Did you say "sumac"??? Are you eating sumac? I thought it was poisonous! Must be a different variety...? I loved your post, but I am sorry about your fern plant. Maybe put it out in the rain and it will come back to life too. I love those little pink wildflowers. I've had those too, and it is such fun to see them close up at night and open back up in the sunshine. They're pretty smart! They know when to go to sleep and wake up! Thinking about you and praying for you every day. The green light on the neighbor's house is very colorful! You don't see that every day, well, maybe YOU do! LOL. Hey, at least it's not a RED light! LOL.
I am sorry to read that it's been 9 weeks since he walked. Sending love and huggs your way.
It's fun to have flowers open and close and get the shots. I love the pink.
LOVE THIS !!!
You have made my day with your random photos. Sorry about your ferns but I have a feeling their"brothers and sisters" will return.
Interesting green lights across the street. I giggled at Bob's comment about Motel 6.
Hang in there GirlFriend...glad to see you commenting now and then.
Sue
Nice plants. Glad they survived. You really have a green thumb.
I didn't know Sumac was edible! Except the poison one, of course. We have them all over the property. Good to know.
I like like lights too. Hey, whatever makes a person happy and it's not harmful, go for it.
Love ❤️
