I have zero sparkles that have any monetary worth,
They are not even worth the word, Bling
And certainly not worth much of anything.
they have been in the box, for 65 years,
I have to tell you, if I stare at them, they can bring tears.
The only thing new is the pin from TOPS,
I earned it from most lost lbs in a year, which earns it a home in the box.
The yellowed pearls belong to my Dads Mother,
the lighter pearls came from my own mother.
The purple stone, with gold trim belong to my Aunt Helen, Daddys only sister who was my 2nd mother. We lived behind their house for the first 10 years of my life, in their remodeled chicken coop.
They don't really Sparkle, but they do Spark Memories when I take a look.
They are not gold or silver, or pearls from the sea,
they are treasures of memories, and only for me.
None but the TOPS pin have been worn since I retired from the work place in 2006.

They're worth more than gold to you. Lovely, special memories.
Thanks for the poetry, Sandra. The memories attached to the jewels are what makes them precious. Miriam has bling but hardly ever wears it and her ears are not pierced so she has never worn earrings in her life. I’m with her. The human body has no need to be pierced and tattooed, or ornamented in any other way.
Hello,
I like your "Sparkle of Memories". They are treasure just for you! I do not wear any jewelry except for my wedding band. Take care, have a great day and a happy weekend.
that are the true treasures
Most of my jewellry is not worth much either (in money) and nowadays as I spend most of my time at home I rarely wear any at all. Possibly sometimes in summer.
Treasures of memories, absolutely!!! I'm not a fan of jewelry, either ... but. These pieces which carry fingerprints from history are so much more than Bling.
I love the way you have them draped over the glasses. Like something in a jeweler's window.
They are priceless!
Such beautiful memories, Sandra and gorgeous sparkles!
Memories are more priceless that diamonds! Thank you for sharing yours.
It's funny how opening a box like that can bring back such fond memories. I have lots of jewelry that I wore when I was working, but now sits untouched in my jewelry box too.
