I Found the Carriage but not the glass shoes.

After Our walk in the park with Beau, we rode up and down streets, looking at interesting things while Beau hung out the window with his 2nd Sniff Arama of Sunday morning.
We ride until he gets tired and lays down. About 1/2 hour.
I found the carriage but not the glass shoes, or Prince or Cinderella. But
I stomped the brake when I saw that carriage from the street and quickly took 3 photos of it, and would have taken more if Bob was not whining about how many do you need of it?

He said "why do you even want a photo of it?
REALLY???
I think it either rocks or is a glider. there is no way to pull it and I want one.

Just in case you might want to know why and what and when and how.
Here it it. Cinderella was my favorite of all Fairy Tale as a child.

Walmart Bloviator #2

Saturday at O dark 30, I found myself, the MadBloviator1,walking through the doors elbow to elbow with another woman about my age.

As we stepped in the doors, Bloviator2 said to me "You and I are the only shoppers in the store with paper lists in our hands."

I said "we even used the same type of tablet. Pen and Paper is my thing. It's so easy to just jot on the tablet and much quicker to glance down at that trying to balance a phone that might get lost if I lay it down"

She said  "I know, right? who needs to deal with a phone, paper is so much easier."

I said " I can beat the paper story, and you will not believe this, but last week I saw a MAN with a calculator? " Shopping! with a calulator

Her eyes went WIDE and she said "NO! You didn't?"

Ok you get the gist of it. I met Bloviator 2 at Walmart; and I am not the only Chatty Cathy in the building.

This post is for those of you who said you don't like to talk to strangers in doctors' offices and public places and don't really want someone talking to you while you wait.

To Set your minds at rest, just in case you meet me in a public place, I only talk to participating Bloviators

I say, I like your shoes. You say Thanks! if you give me zero feed back, I WILL NOT talk to you.

I only bloviate with other bloviators. Warning! the more feedback from you, the more you will get!

For those of you wondering what the glamour shots above have to do with this post, the answer is.

I asked AI for bloviator, bright colors, glamour. That is what I got.

Second try, I said "two old ladies, talking while walking into walmart  BINGO!

More like it but she had on jeans and a t-shirt and I had on leggings and a t-shirt. no hats.

Appliance Attack

I asked AI for a woman being attacked by a washing machine and a refrigerator. I then cusomized the photos you see in black and white. When I asked it to create template for the Art of Blogging, the words came up using the word their where you see the word her... It gives the template but all of it can be customized, I changed this template a lot.
I told it I wanted to do a post about Being Attacked my my appliances.

Applicance Attack by MadSnapper

Our washer is over 5 years old.
I loved it the first few days,
I have hated if every day since them.
It makes a grinding, struggling noise while weighing the items to figure out how much water to use.
The water is not enough. Just let me pick my own please.
It doesn't wildly swish back and forth like my old ones did, and in fact I have no idea what it does, but it doesn't do what all my washers did in the past.
It says it is an agitator. AND IT IS!
Now to the point of this post!
The darn thing LOCKS when I push the ON button. The first few months, if I forgot something that I wanted in, I just did not add it.
I finally realized to push the on button while it was on and it would stop and allow me to open it.
A few days ago, the wash was done agitating me, and the light that blinks to say, Done, Dummy, you can now put your clothes in the dryer was blinking madly.
THE LID WOULD NOT OPEN. I pried, lifted, cursed and
came in the house and said
Well, the sheets are clean and wet but I can't get them in the dryer!
Bob huffs and puffs to match my demeanor when telling him,
walks out in the garage, yanks the plug out of the wall and
PLUGS IT BACK IN.
It popped right open.
Agitated because I did not think of that, and that he did not just say did you unplug it.
I am the computer person, but he thought of the reboot thing.
Reboot is necessary because the darn thing is a computer and all I wanted was an on/off button, and i got a Dashboard worthy of a Space Craft.
The worst part of it all, was the huge bruise I got on my forearm while battling with trying to open it.
Added to that, the day before, the refrigerator stabbed my other forearm not once but twice, using as its weapon of choice, the on/off switch for the light to come on/off when the door opens.
Even worse? this is not the first cut from the fridge!

This is 100 percent written by me. I tried to get AI to write a funny, sarcastic blog post and what a mess it wrote. I asked for a short one and it was twice as long as this and not nearly as good because it has no idea what it was trying to talk about.
It took me 3 times as long to fiddle with getting it to write a post than it did to do it myself.

Drizzlosis and ME

I found this word on the Blog, An English Girl Rambles and borrowed it to tell you
how I felt when I took this video.

We had five minutes of glorious rain and I felt drizzlosis while standing with the door open to the front porch.
It might show better on Youtube. I have about lost my religion trying to upload and messing about with YouTube. Why do they makes things so hard?
You can hear the thunder better on YouTube

The Big Suprise! Tight Budget?

Have you ever shopped with a calculator? I shopped with one like this from my first shopping trip for groceries the week after I married in 1962.
It was a MUST! After the two sons, it was even more a must.
I stopped with the calculator, after the first year of marriage to Bob in 1985.
If you are wondering where this is going, I saw something this past Saturday that I have never seen before in my considerable years on this earth.
Are you ready?
Get Set
Go!

I saw a Man, a Male, You know, not a female, shopping in Walmart for groceries with a CALCULATOR!
In shock, each time I met him in the store, I watched as he onehanded used the calculator, put the item in, tap in the cost. Not a cell phone, a real calculator.
I have seen females do this my entire life but never a male.
Now I have a surprise for YOU! Or maybe NOT.
I typed the description, male shopper, calculator in hand, digital art into Bing AI
and got these four males.
As an afterthought, I should have said groceries.
Have you seen a male using a calculator to shop in grocery store?
I can't remember the last time I saw a female doing this.
Now they don't shop for the amount they HAVE to spend, they just Charge It!
This young man, about 40, is my kind of shopper. Spending what he has to spend and spending it well.

the other three, AI created from my words.

my favorite of the four.

Palmetto Historical Park-Post office 1880

The post office
Palmetto Historical Park  source of this information

Heritage Station is Palmetto’s first free-standing post office. It was built for Mrs. Mary Nettles, Palmetto’s 2nd and 4th Postmaster, who served 1880-1889 and again 1893-1897. During her service and through the turn of the century, mail destined for Palmetto traveled first by rail to Cedar Key, then 125 miles south by steamer and into the Manatee River to Palmetto.

Each March on Heritage Day, Heritage Station is open for business from 10:30 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. All mail posted through the antique post office is hand cancelled with a special cancellation used only on that day at this place.

The post office is full of symmetry for symmetry Saturday, and even more when the sun is shining

Mexican Petuntias and very few Raindrops

We had 4 days of a CHANCE of rain, 50%!
We got 5 minutes of a light shower/sprinkles on 3 days.
Not even enough to measure but the Mexican Petunias Burst into blooms
and a few droplets hung around for 10 minutes until the 94 R/34C dried it up.
Not a drought breaker but wonderful.

Same as the first but edits in InstaToon App

Hominy Harmony

My senior memory, like an 8 ball, waiting for the right answer, read from my grocery list.
2 cans diced potatoes.
My senior eyes SAW potatoes
but when I reached into the cabinet this week end I pulled out 2 cans of

Most of you might not know what GRITS is! I love it.
Or what White Hominy is.
Both are made from corn, and common in the Southern States of USA.
I was raised on Grits, but have never eaten Hominy.
The good news was I already had 2 cans of dice potatoes and I
Accidently Found a New Food that is IBS friendly.
I said to The 8 Ball Brain in my head.
What can I used this never before eaten Hominy?
Its Corn, I love corn, corn meal, and grits.
I love Grits and CHEESE
I put a helping of drained Hominy in my little fry pan, after spraying with Olive Oil
and as it heated I added 3 pieces of Seriosly Sharp Cheddar and let if cook
for about 3 minutes,
I LOVE IT! like marbles of grits and cheese. I had that and a slice of toasted french bread for breakfast.
Accidental Happy Find.
If you continue you can see it is a healthy food
Feel free to skip the graphic if you hate the stuff.
I will be trying new things with it and add it to my IBS SAFE LIST

I Did It!!!!

This story started at 4:30 AM, Monday morning.
Bob yelled down the hallway
"WHAT'S WRONG WITH MY PILLS?"
I went running in the kitchen and he handed me his 7 day pill box that
has 1 fish oil, 1 All In One Vitamin in it.
WHAT IS THAT? I yelled.
The pill that has the black stuff is a vitamin the slug looking thing is the fish oil that is normally gold.
I zipped locked it in a baggie, and at 9 am drove to Publix and
showed it to our pharmacist. He said What is that? I said We hoped you would know.
He said He has never seen anything like it before.
I bought new vitamins in Publix, and a new pill container and walked out the door.
Seeing the Sign 3 doors down, that said Super Cut Salon, I thought, I am going to find out how much a haircut costs.
This is a BIG DEAL... no one has cut my hair since 1985 but my husband Bob.
Tired of me crying because they made me look like Cesar Agustus, he became my in-house Salon Super Cutter.

I walked in the door and seeing only one lady at the desk, said, what do you charge for just a haircut?
She said $19.00. I had intended to get the price, because Bob is having a hard time cutting my hair, with his hands a little shaky, arms up in the air, knees a little rocky, I decided to
Try it Out!
I showed her the purple hair do I wanted, oh wait! that is a dream, not true.
I did it,
Heather Cut my hair, I thanked her over and over that Ceasar was not in the mirror when she was done.
I asked her
Make it so I can wash it, let it air dry, fluff it with my fingers.
Blend it, leave it the same but shorter, and leave the bangs not straight but feathered!
and HERE IT IS
Because of the wrinkles and chins, I added my Avatar so you
Can Focus On the Hair Cut, not the FACE.
Bob was a tad unhappy when I came home, but he will get over it.
Since I had not paid for a haircut for 40 years, I had no idea what to tip her.
I gave her 5 dollars, for the 19.00 cut. Was that right
PS I hate being ME, I fret over everything, what she thought, was it enough, did she think I was nuts,
DID I TALK TO MUCH?
PS again, If I were young and if I were beautiful, I would Love to have that magenta/purple hair.

Sunday Morning

4:45 Am Sunday

We woke up to this on the radar. See that rain? See that Blue Dot? the Dot is us.
Each day for 4 days we have had this type radar, and each day we got close to ZIP of rain
It is to the NSEW of us and we are always in the hole that has no rain.
Each day we got 3 to 5 minutes of drizzles, not even enough to measure how much.
Because there were Bolts of Lighting Blazing Through our sky and making Loud booms, at just the time for Beaus Walk, we sat watching TV while we waited for it to clear.
and Clear It Did.

Bob said look out the window, Wow! I stepped on the front porch
to document the sunrise.
We put Beau in the car and went for a ride, then came home and I walked him.
We are thankful for the sprinkles of rain for four days; we have 7 more coming and all of you need to cross your fingers and do a rain dance.
Dance hard, we have 7 more CHANCES.

Hope my beauty doesn't ruin the natural beauty of the sunrise. 😍

Mango Tango!

A knock on the door heralded the mango Fairy paying us a visit,
I said to Beau who is it?

We found Beaus Godmother, Jackie's husband, Richard at the door,
He had bags of mangos all over the porch floor.
there were red ones and green ones, too many to count.
It really was a ginormous amount!
Two bowls and a box overrun with fruit,
and yet another box of really green ones to boot.
we left the green on the bench,
to ripen and hope they left no stench.
I took two bags of 8 each to my two friends,
and left all of these to ripen and peel, freeze and blend.
Each day I make ice cream of frozen fruit, exactly at 10.
Thank You Jackie and Richard, for mango from your yard,
and for working to pick the, we know it was hard.

Beau say he would rather trade the fruit for a petting visit with HIM.

Heritage Chapel-Palmetto Historical Park

Heritage Chapel is available for use for wedding, funerals or services.
The Church is the only building in the Historical Park that is not an original building.
It was built in 1999 as a replica of the first 3 churches in Palmetto.
First Baptist, First Methodist, First Presbyterian combined architecture

First Baptist Church, built in 1892, was the church 6 generations attended. This was one of the models used to build the replica. My cousins still attend First Baptist and have since birth but now the church looks like this.

I would love to see my great grandparents viewing the church today.

The parsonages built in 1931 is across the street from my grandmother's house.
It was the parsonage until 2014.
church and parsonage google maps.
the house has looked like this my entire life.
