Ears to ME

Forty plus years ago, I had my ears pierced. In 2006 after retiring, I stopped wearing them, mainly because I rarely go anywhere to 'dress up'.

Weight loss = Thinner face (for some reason the weight comes off face/wrist/ankles and not the middle parts)
Are you thinking what the heck does that have to do with photos of Earrings?

I got a bee in my bonnet that I would MAKE MY OWN EAR RINGS,

probably from Ann and Pam, fellow bloggers who are CRAFTERS.
I decided to MAKE MY OWN earrings because each time I look in the mirror,
I see my EARS and think I now look like an ELF.
(also while staring at my ears I have realized the shape of my head is an EGG)

My thought is if I hang earrings on the elf ears standing out from the egg shaped head, people will look at earrings and not the ears.
When I said this to hubby, he said I can tell you when men look at women it is NOT at their EARS.
(now I am afraid to look and see what MEN see when they look at me)

I made 4 pairs, 2 shades of blue, black and white.
I am inserting a WARNING here, for just in case you try it yourself.

Look below, center of photo, see that wire thingy? I made a pair with that and when I put them on Could NOT remove them from the lobes, on the EARS on the side of the egg shaped head.

Bob. help me! I can't get it loose... a few   words later, I snarled LET ME DO IT... at a cost of almost losing my earlobe I got them off and will never ever never use that wire again.

I might have mentioned this ear thing in a prior post. I also told you I bought 3 new pair of earrings the day after Christmas in a prior post. The thing is they are to long, they swing and touch my neck and I can FEEL them...  The question comes to mind, just how many posts about ears and earrings can one blogger post?  Ears to you and Ears to me!

Sugar or Sugar or Sugar?

It has been a year of learning what I can and can't eat after giving up processed sugar and white flour.. I want to share my new info with you. For several months I would wake up to what is called Cocks Crow Diarrhea. Bouts of gastrointestinal distress, flatulence, bloating and diarrhea. This only last for about an hour, but kept me from going to the YMCA to exercise in the pool. A total mystery to me.

A  blogger stated in a comment that she is allergic to sugar. I am a cyber detective and dove into research on sugar allergy. Wow! if you want to know just type Sugar Allergy in Google Search!

I found that mine is not allergy, but Sugar Intolerance or it doesn't absorb properly. Before I went on the new food plan, I had the same thing but not as often. Every time I went on a sugar binge but did not know why.

I thought but I don't eat sugar.... or so I thought. The photo above shows the sweetners I use in cereal, coffee, plain Greek yogurt and the CULPRIT IS  Cool Whip... All Cool Whip..

I had been using frozen cool whip, by the spoon for a sugar free snack. Also putting it on fruit, dip and apple slice, pineapple slice.

I checked my food diary that I keep by this rule. "You Bite it Write it". (try this and see what you eat each day)
On each of the days I ate the cool whip the next morning I would miss the pool.

I checked the ingredients in ALL Cool Whip and each of them has sucrose, fructose and all the ose words.  If the word ends with OSE it is a type of sugar. Cool Whip is sweetened with sucrose and sorbitan which is a sister to sorbitol. (I can not eat sugar free candy because sorbitol gives me instant gas and cramps)

I was Shocked to the core to find that the saccharin in Sweet n Low  that I have used for 40 years,
has dextrose added because saccharin is bitter by itself, Stevia in the Raw is not raw plant extract but has dextrose added and Nectasweet is saccharin with cellulose. The small print is hidden and the big print makes you think it is sugar free.

Because I gave up sugar, I added these to my foods and drinks and each day I was flooding my body with OSE words..... in other word just another form of sugar. I am now using less of these and more of Honey, RAW Local honey. Not processed.

When we think we are not eating sugar we might be. Sugar is listed in almost everything processed and this link will let you know which names to look for.

Click here for 56 names of Sugar  below i have included a few links if you want to research further.

What are the symptoms of sugar intolerance?
Sugar intolerance and malabsorption has been found to be an issue for some individuals causing gastrointestinal distress, flatulence, bloating, diarrhea, fatigue and anemia. There are many different types of sugars and it is important to pin point which one is the culprit if you suspect intolerance or malabsorption.

Stealing from Sunday Stealing

I follow Respice Respite and while reading her questions that she answered from Sunday Stealing, I decided to Steal a few of the questions. Please pick a few or all and tell me your answers in comments. I am doing this on Saturday so you have time to READ and COMMENT I took it from 15 questions to 8.

1. Do you use certain text or ring tones for specific people? Who gets their own?

No, because my phone will not do that. IF IT DID I WOULD..

2.When did you get your first digital camera? Are you all digital now? Do you still use film?

Feb. 24, 2002, I paid 89.00 for a Kodak Easy Share 3.5 Mega Pixel..  I know this because we got our dog Baby on Feb 22, and next day at work my friend came with a new camera, she told me to take it home to take pics of Baby, from the first SNAP! I was hooked. I bought one the same day and thus came about MADSnapper.

3. What do you think someone else would say the most daring thing you've done is?
Driving an 18 wheeler for J.B. Hunt back in 1983, 80,000 miles in 3 months. And I had never been in a big truck in my life.

4. Do you talk with your hands?  👌🙌✌👍

5. What kind of milk did you drink, growing up? And now?

Born in the 40's, in the deep south, poor as dirt and all we had was powdered milk. I did not drink it unless it had chocolate in it or was on cereal. In 1944 until I was 2, mother raised me on Canned Carnation milk, which was part of Daddy's pay for meat cutter at the local market.
Now we drink skim milk.

6. Favorite pie? Lemon Meringue just like my daddy, second choice egg custard, daddy's second choice to.

7. Are you a note taker? YES! I write myself notes, I make lists, If listening to someone talk, I take notes. I also learn by writing down what i want to learn.

8. How old were you when you took your first commercial flight?  To where did you fly?

At 24 years old, my aunt sent me a ticket to fly from Savannah to where I live now to attend a family wedding. my one and only commercial flight because i found out I get desperately sick flying just like a I do on a boat. No flying or floating for me at all.

Happy Anniversary????

January 25th, 2015 this staghorn fell for the 3rd time. It fell in 2013 and 2014. Happy Anniversary on Jan. 25, 2018 celebrating 3 years on the ground

.... the good news is, IT LOVES being on the ground, it weighed about 100 pounds when it fell and now may way 20 pounds more and is healthy.

The reason is, The Man will not let me ask someone to help him hang it again and it is way to heavy for a one person job. The last time he hung it, he used a come-a-long, which is a contraction that removes engines from cars.... In 2014 that worked with just him and me standing screaming watch out its falling. These days we need 2 men and me to scream... The Rehang also included a stepladder that I had to hold while I screamed.

these photos are a few of the blindshots with my cell phone, above is our neighbors fence that IMRA blew down, that is now back up. With the winds from Irma if this had been in the tree it might have become a missile through our front windows. So Good news it has laid on the ground 3 years and did not crash into our house.

New STUFF I just learned..

Are you wondering what this collage is? Is your heart beating with mad expectation?
Is you imagination running wild?
The Answer IS... the collage is a screen print of Google Photos from my Tablet. The FUN thing is... I went for my morning walk in our neighborhood and took my LG cell phone with me and Blindly Shot Photos. I just held up the phone as I walked and said KimChee or Smile or Whiskey or LG which are the 4 words that  make my phone take a photo. (note: I get strange looks when in public places talking to my camera)

I had 72 photos of homes and trees. THE THING IS!!! I mentioned I had blue toothed my cell pic to my Tablet and computer and Ann of SnapEditScrap told me she could see her cell pics in Google Photos without taking them from her phone. I have spent many aggravating minutes transferring photos from cell to computer.

ALL THIS TIME all I had to do was go to, top right corner and click on the color pin wheel and every photo I took on phone and tablet are there and ready to post. I don't have to edit or resize. YAY!  All photos taken on cell or tablet show up in Google Photos. You do have to be logged into Google on cell/tablet while taking photos and to see them. but isn't everybody always logged in?

All photos today were taken Blindly with no idea what I was getting until I got home.

Friday, January 26, 2018

All four of these photos taken as Blind Shots. Could not see my screen at all... Taken with LG cell phone with no edits or resizing. Just held the phone in 4 different places and said KimChee, that is how my camera takes photos, I TALK TO IT.

EXCITING NEWS coming soon to a blog near you....

I am having laser surgery on my left eye at Noon today.. SEE you soon! No Biggie! just quick taps to remove a membrane, in office, 10 minutes. That doesn't count the WAIT time.

Sole Mates @ Almost Wordless Wed

Because We are

SORRY BLOG FRIENDS... I have spent so much time in the sliding glass door sunshine trying to stay warm that my brains fried...  Did you find ME in the first photo? YES we live in FL, this was last week and week before, the 10 days of 40's to high 60's. the house stayed at 68 without heat but 68 is to cold for bare feet so we wear socks instead of slippers and that sunshine is like a fireplace.

Question for YOU

Above is a screen shot of my desktop. I like bright colors and lots of sunshine on mine, I have a different one on each device and I change it a lot. As in any time I find a photo I love. I use my photos most of the time, but occasionally will borrow a favorite from the web.

1. Do you have a photo on your monitor screen?
2. If so what is it?
3. Do you change it? How often?
4. Do you use your own photos or wallpaper from the net?

Dan, Bluetooth Tutor

Yes, Virginia, it does get cold in Florida. My son, Dan, the dock master and Dan of all trades, plus he is an artist also. One month from today, he will be  51 on Feb. 22 this year.

He sent me the above photo yesterday and I asked if he took it with phone or tablet and why his selfies are better than mine. . His answer was I take selfies with my flip phone and Bluetooth it to my tablet to upload to FB or Messenger.
He doesn't have a smart phone, but he is so smart. I have had a smartphone and tablet for years and had no idea I had Bluetooth on either one.

I checked phone/tablet and There It Was on both devices. I can figure out how to use things but first someone has to tell me it is there.

I just this minute blue toothed a photo from my phone to my tablet. Thanks Daniel.

Personally I think his selfies are better because at 6'4" his arms are at least a foot longer than mine, PLUS I am 22 years older than he is.... Just sayin
Several bloggers asked if Dan wears colored contacts. No, he wears clear contacts, but the blue is true blue.

I'm Spec-tacular!!!

I'm Spec-tacular!!!

NOTE: if you lose lots of weight, your glasses will become to big for your face and fall off when you lean forward OR will be easily knocked from your face by your own flailing hands.
Just Sayin!

But Wait! there's More

NOPE! not my rings that you saw yesterday. These are my husbands wedding rings.
One is Sterling the other 14 K Gold.
The reason he has a silver (cost 20.00) and a gold (500.00 in 1988), is he lost the gold one, and it was lost for 3 years. I replaced it with silver because of the cost and because he has lost not one but THREE gold necklaces. I bought a cheap one and he has not lost it or the cheap silver ring. The gold one flipped up out of the dirt beside the driveway when the weed wacker string FOUND it 3 years after he lost it.

Below is simply PROOF there are FOUR rings. that this is not Fiction
I almost decided to skip this because the wrinkles show even more.
I consider this photo a learning experience. I learned that hand selfies look just as bad as face selfies.

Left to right, My New ring, My old ring, Hubby's silver and Hubby's gold.

"Ring" in the New Year

I had to "ring" in the new year.

The ring on your right has been my wedding band for the past 20 years. the narrow one is my new ring and is only 2 mm narrower than the old one. Also 2 sizes smaller. (my body lost 4 sizes, the fingers only 2, whaz up with that?)

The lost of 53 pounds (24 kilograms) caused the ring to fall off my finger. I love this ring and have worn it for more than 20 years.

The day after Christmas I purchased a ring CHEAP at 70 % off sale and hated it. THIN silver.
(weight loss must cause brain cell loss also, because I forgot to take a photo of the ugly, thin ring, plus WHY did I buy something I don't like???)

Google research revealed the need for the silver to be ..925 Sterling. HELOOOO Amazon!

YAY! I had so many to choose from, all very similar, it took me DAYS to decide.

YAY! again, when it came it was exactly as pictured and I LOVE IT!

YAY! the old one fits  3 other fingers....

Those of you who know me well, know that I can't take ONE photo of anything. Below are a few of the 39 photos I took of the two rings.

YES! it took 73 years to make that many wrinkles. I came close to photo shopping them out, but WHY? Thank goodness I wear clothes to cover all the OTHER wrinkles. Should I wear gloves and the old ring would fit over the glove????

Now I wonder why I want to wear a ring and call attention to the wrinkles. Does it really matter if people know I am married?  should I buy an ankle bracelet to point out the varicose veins?

Not Friday - Not Fiction

For the first time ever I intended to Join Final Friday Fiction Blog hop

The writing prompt is Take a book - any book, a different one each month - and go to page 87; take a word or phrase from each of lines 8, 12 and 16. Write up to 500 words of fiction.

I have no books, I am Kindle E-reader only.

The choice of a book in my house was either my Bible or Dr. Atkins New Diet which is not new since it was printed in 1992 which is when I purchased it.

I chose Atkins to find my prompts and chose to write a poem using these phrases.

Dr Akins New diet by Dr. Atkins, page 87, line 8 I'll explain, line 12 proved wrong yet and line 16 will have stabilized.
I sit, straining my brain
I feel real pain as I strain.
I'll explain.
I am trying to write "on demand"
I really don't think that I "can".
I'll explain.
Since I have never been proved wrong yet,
I can't even make a bet
That I can write on demand.
I fear this could lead to my demise,
I am trying to write and be wise.
Suddenly I realize I will click 'publish'
and I will have stabilized....

After writing this, I realized the rules said must be FICTION. OOPS! the old brain was really strained.  Not Friday, Not Final Friday, Not Fiction... Just a silly poem on Thursday.

I left the link to Final Friday  in case some of you with a brain want to join on the last Friday of the Month.
P.S.   I am at my Tops Meeting which means Take Off Pounds Sensibly and I am wondering if the diet thing is removing brain cells and I need to go BACK to my SUGAR addiction.

Fence Me IN

Please fence me in to this new home being built on the river. Wide river, old oaks, beautiful home and what will be a lovely fence when completed.

RANT!  Last November, Publix called to tell me they could not find my prescription drug A anywhere and that the doctor had changed me to another drug M. Just a heads up that my 90 days would be different. I ranted and carried on and then after a couple of weeks, I  said to Bob. this is a good thing. I like M so much better than A.

.YAY! something went wrong then was RIGHT!

Last week at the doc, the print out they gave me stated the drugs I take and I verified it was correct. The new drug M was listed, the other one said no longer taking A. YAY! all is well.

This morning I opened the prescriptions I picked up for the next 90 days and NOOOO! the bottle was A not M..... I called Publix and he said he was sorry, that the auto fill still had the old A and that he would change it and I could Pick up M tomorrow after 2... Seems someone did not change the auto fill to the new prescription. He said keep A as a back up because he would just have to toss it out. He would void the prescription in the system in order to add the one I needed.

I said to Bob, I need to check each bottle before I leave the store. Then, I said if I can remember to. Because earlier today, I made a 2nd trip to Walmart because I forgot 3 items, and a 3rd trip because 4 weeks ago I bought the wrong size hearing aid battery. And I had the wrong receipt and will have to go back a 4th time.

If  I can't even shop correctly, how can I keep track of the prescriptions and the pharmacy. We are all people and all make mistakes. At least my mistake will not kill us, but a pharmacy could. Praise be I am not working in a pharmacy, who knows what could happen.

I support this POST

 4 photos of a rope

One of a post

A post in front of dead grass.

It caught my eye,

I know not Why.

You thought this post would be funny. I am a frayed knot!
I wanted to tell a joke about a jump rope, but decided to skip it.
Sorry, but several bad puns later, I SUPPORT THIS POST!
