Hallowween Tale

Youngest Son Dan Current Photo, he is 51
Dan has been busy in his workshop creating the haunted house and decorations for the Yacht Club. He does this each year and loves it because it is not his money he spends. He is very creative and artistic. Below is just a part of what he created this year. The Dining Room is ready. He sent a video of the Haunted House he created, not sure if it will play. It is below the last photo.

THERE IS A MOVIE BELOW, hard to see it... Click HERE to see Big Boy Halloween

Both of these were blind shots with my phone while walking. I could not see the screen at all. We do not have yellow hibiscus, but I do love them. Yellow, the color of JOY...

Things I love that are yellow... Can you list a few more?

Freddy Junior...

I have a problem! I am STILL feeding Tadpoles, it cost me 3.78 a week to feed them. I want to stop but what can I do? they are just now turning into tiny frogs.. This is Freddy Jr. He is the size of an eraser on a pencil.... I did a couple of Lunapic to show you how cute he is.. Don't you just LOVE him?  would you buy spring mix for tadpoles?   I said to Bob, this is silly, I am not buying more food. When I came home from WM and went out to feed them, he said I KNEW YOU WOULD buy more lettuce.  They have been in the barrels since July 24th, I have been feeding them for weeks now. In the past they did not need food because they were gone within 3 weeks.
One of the tiny frogs leaped off the barrel to the ground and I nearly expired from JOY...

There are now FOUR tiny frogs, about a dozen with front legs only, another dozen with 4 legs but still have a tail.... Now that you know this, you can sleep better.....😎  If I start a Lettuce for Tadpoles Go Fund Me, will you donate?????

Bray Bridge and Bob

TREES by Joyce Kilmer

I think that I shall never see
A poem lovely as a tree.
A tree whose hungry mouth is prest
Against the earth's sweet flowing breast;
A tree that looks at God all day,
And lifts her leafy arms to pray;
A tree that may in Summer wear
A nest of robins in her hair;
Upon whose bosom snow has lain;
Who intimately lives with rain.
Poems are made by fools like me,
But only God can make a tree.

Bray Park Walkabout with Bob... he never knows when he is stalked by my camera. The poet did not mention Squirrels, but in this park there are hundreds, maybe thousands, and  otters and birds and coyotes and racoons, possums and snake and lizards... and much more. We love them all, trees and critters.

Red Copper Egg

I love my red copper pan... a few drops of avocado or EVOO and voila. I turn mine over and cook till done. Bob eats his like this. How do you eat your eggs? I can't eat runny white or yellow.

My memory continues to amaze me, or the lack there of... We eat our big meal at noon. This means putting the crockpot on at 4 or 5 am, which is no problem since we are UP...

The problem is I keep forgetting to put it on. I thought I solved the problem. I put the bright red crockpot on the kitchen counter. This means when I take my 5 am pill I will see it and fill it up.

Wrong. on that day, I forgot to take the pill, which means I found the crock pot to late to use it that day. Ok, I know you are saying just eat at 1 or 2.   We Can't, we must eat at 6:30, 12 and 5. Because we always HAVE...

Walk A Mile A Day

Bismarkia Palms are common here and a this is their natural color

When we moved in our house 29 years ago, I was 5'6'', now I am 5'4''... you would not think 2 inches would matter in the kitchen, but it does.

Condiments in over the range cabinets, were easy to reach, Now on tip toes I can barely reach and have to grab with grabber . I can't clean the top of the doors to the cabinets without a ladder which makes me dizzy. Bob can still reach the tops, when I am done with the bottoms I hand him the cloth to do the top 1 foot.

Also have to ask him to get a blanket down off the shelf in the closet. I don't like shrinking.

When walking, I choose my path by how much shade is on the street. It changes daily.

Walk A Mile A Day

More beautiful greens from my walk in the neighborhood.
You will never guess what we saw on our Saturday am walk with Big Boy.

Did you guess this?

A coyote that was exactly like this photo off the internet.. The 3 of us were ambling along and I heard a horn honk. I glanced back and the truck was riding in the middle of the road, warning us the coyote was running straight at us, right down the middle of the road. The poor coyote was terrified and of course I was to.... we hustled to the corner, which was about 30 feet away and hoofed it towards home, the Coyote did not even look at us. We are hoping the man in the truck herded him back to the park. They have no where to roam, our county has PRETTIFIED there habitats, making human boardwalks and concrete paths with out any thought for wildlife.

Sears Tears

These doors to our Sears Store will be closed by end of year. In 1970, Bob was the back shop Auto Manager that opened the Auto Center. He worked there until 1990.

 In 1984, I walked through the doors above into the Auto Center as a transfer from Sears in Savannah Ga. I had worked there since 1973. Bob and I met in Sears and married while working together in this store and I transferred to the Sears in St Pete. The store I came from in Savannah will be closed by end of November.   Bob and I both gave almost 18 years to the company and when we worked here together these parking lots were jammed with cars and the waiting line in Automotive was more than we could handle. Now it is empty.

Bob worked 18 years in automotive, I worked telephone catalog, sign shop, Display dept dressing mannequins, automotive as greeter/dispatcher and last and the least favorite in paint and hardware.

My sears story goes further back, my dad worked as a sewing machine salesman in Sears in Savannah from 1947 to 1953. Sears is where we bought my childrens clothing and our washers/dryers and was the go to store for our lives.
I do feel sad they are closing there doors.
Victims of the internet I think.
The big mall this anchors has lost all but Penny's and Sears and is almost an empty shell
In memory of our Sears Stores, they were a giant in their times.

Below is a house from Sears that was on our news Friday... this is the Link if you want to know more.

Walk A Mile on Flower Friday

At lower left you can see the sidewalk I walk on that goes under these beautiful plants. They are all in the yard of one home.

In Florida we have gorgeous colors of foliage that are not flowers mixed with flowers. No clue what any of these are.  All of these are cell phone pics.

I looked for cell phone puns, and this is it... we all want to live Apple-ly ever after.

Except I don't have an Apple Phone.... mine is LG and I think LG stands for Looks Good photos. Are you apple? or something else

Bray Park Path

Puns to pave the path for you.
What? You say these puns are path-etic?

Only an optimist sees the word path in pathetic.
This next one is off the written path I took today.

Our GPS might be a tell-a-path.

This path is in Bray Park, and takes about 15 minutes to walk it. We seem to be deep in the woods, but 50 feet on other side is civilization.  Not our dog. We have not taken Big Boy there yet.

Walk A Mile A Day

It's hard to get bored with all these pieces of beauty to look at while walking.

 I am getting a MOVE On...getting into my Stride...

 How much walking do you do?
Do you do other exercise? Besides my walking, I do the pool at the Y 5 days a week and a little dancing to YouTube videos

Inactivity is our Enemy.... my new motto....

lacy leaves bray

Last week we found the woods full of leaves that were transformed to lace by something that is eating them.
Beleaf me, these leaves are beautiful to behold.

If you have the time, pop on over to Fourpawsetc to see the beauty in our lives on day 14 of Gotcha Day for BB.

we get no fall color but the dead ones come close
